I’ve just caught up with your travel log (Oct/Nov); I’ll check back more regularly now.
If you have time (and inclination) look at the Great Stupa (here in CO); I’d be curious how it compares architecturally with the Golden Temple: http://www.shambhalamountain.org/stupa.html
Also, for your own amusement, you might listen to the infrequent reports on the BBC (BBC.com) and NPR (NPR.ORG) which feature India. (It’s always interesting to compare reports with personal experience.)
This morning on the BBC I heard about a Maoist poet in Hydrabad who is the public representative of a Maoist group governing a large rural area near the city (itself in the throes of a capitalist revolution). I couldn’t find the story posted on the web though, but that may be because it just aired today.
Thanks for taking the time to update your blog; it is fun to keep up with your travels.

Hey Geoffrey, remembered finallly to read your blog on your trip – sounds fantastic!!!! Keep up the writing, and keep seeing cool and new stuff.
The background is amazing, but it pales in comparison to the subject of the photo.
Geoffrey,
Mom and I are sitting here catching up on all your journal entries. Wish you could be with us for Christmas but are happy you are having such a terrific adventure. We like your picture in front of the mountains and quite agree with Sarah’s assessment!
Love you Sharon & Mom
