Hi everybody,
I keep getting suggestions of places I should visit. In order to keep track of all the recommendations, I would like people to submit their suggetions. This will help me keep track of them, and allow people to see what others have suggested. If somebody else suggested I visit a city, I would love to know of other things in or around that city.

Geoffrey,
Here are the highlights from my India trip…bearing in mind that I was there in 1989, and many things could have changed (and more importantly, that I am simply not to be trusted):
I enjoyed my trip out to Aurangabad, which is the jump-off point to see the Ellora caves. Quite amazing.
Goa was great, but I wouldn’t suggest Colva. The more remote area you told me about sounded much better.
Mysore was a highlight. It was a manageable town, friendly, and smelled like sandalwood (famous for the carvings there) and incense (they make a lot of that there too).
Madurai was a good place too…the temple complex there is something you really should see.
A favorite spot was Kodaikanal, a hill station down in the south which is beautiful and a great break from the heat. Has a village-like feel, and surrounds a lovely lake.
The backwater trip in Kerala (I think it’s from Allepey to Quoilon, or vice versa) was amazing and a real highlight of my trip. All of Kerala was amazing. I enjoyed staying at the beach at Kovalum quite a lot.
Places I went but wouldn’t go again: Bombay, Poona, Periyar Wildlife Park.
I’ll write more if I can think of it but that’s all for now. India left an indelible impression on me, and I love thinking back to my memories of my wonderful adventure there.
Happy Trails!
